Product Details
Features and Specifications:
9,000 lb. lifting capacity with an Asymmetric design; Symmetric arms Available (additional fee may apply)
# Symmetrical: all 4 arms on the lift are straight and the same length. The vehicle will sit evenly between the columns. If you are picking up over 6,000LBS most of the time this set up is highly recommended because it balances the weight more evenly. It is easier to correctly load the vehicle on the lift.
# Asymmetrical: the front 2 arms are crooked at an angle (45 degrees) and the back arms are longer and straight. This positions the vehicle so that it is farther back on the lift. Giving additional room to open the doors. However, this configuration can be more difficult to load correctly.

The 9,000 LB 2 post lifts are not designed to be used to pick up full size or larger, extended cab or quad cab trucks or sport utility vehicles. This is not due to the lifting capacity; it is due to the location of the pick up points. The fuel tanks on these trucks are situated so that the adapters are unable to grab the vehicle correctly, causing the arm to be placed too far forward. The vehicle is then unbalanced causing the arm to kick out, which could then cause a lift failure and/or a possible safety hazard. Many of our customers have used these lifts without incident; however these are placed in businesses with experienced, qualified technicians. Again, it is the placement of the arms on these vehicles that creates the issue, not the capacity of the lift.
To lift a half ton, extended wheel base vehicle with the TP9K series you may do so with the symmetric arms on the lift. We carry these in stock at our Texas warehouse and can be sold in a full set for $525.00. If the customer requires a versatile lift to be used across the board to pick up cars, trucks and sport utility vehicles with extended wheel bases the 11,000 LB 2 post direct drive (P2P11KD) lift would be the best overall lift for this application.
If the TP9K series asymmetric lift is used in this manner and an incident does occur, Panther will not be responsible for any damages.
**THIS LIFT IS TOO HEAVY FOR LIFT GATE DELIVERY. CUSTOMER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OFF LOADING FROM THE DELIVERY TRUCK**
SAFETY NOTES:
The 9,000 LB 2 post lifts will lift any vehicle that does not exceed 9K, as long as the weight is equally distributed on all four arms (2250 lbs. on each arm). Be sure to take into account the load or added equipment on the vehicle. Extra care must be taken on asymmetric lifts when lifting long wheelbase vehicles. Please refer to the Lifting It Right guide published by the A.L.I. This guide may be ordered off their web site: www.autolift.org .
The arm restraints that come on our two post lifts are for the purpose of holding the arm in place until it makes contact with the vehicle. They are not to be relied upon to hold a miss positioned vehicle in place.
Panther Lifts, nor its distributors, will be responsible for accidents that occur on lifts where the vehicle was not properly positioned, or the proper adapters or arms were not used.
If in doubt, be sure to obtain the Lifting It Right manual from the Automotive Lift Institute. This is an excellent source of information and is sold at a very reasonable price to non-members. Safety is everyones job. Lets do our job together.
